CONNECTED ENTERTAINMENT Proudly Presents CHRIS LAKE (www.chris-lake.com) (www.myspace.com/chrislake1)

Chris Lake is an English House music DJ/producer, living in West London. Lake first became recognized for his bootleg remixes of The Prodigy's "Climbatize", Leftfield's "Phat Planet", and Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams". which he did under the alias "Cristophe D'Abuc". His 2006 track with vocals from Laura V, "Changes", reached the UK Singles Chart, peaking at #27. "Changes" was first released in 2005 on Alternative Route Recordings and was licensed to Universal Music for a full worldwide release in Summer 2006. It reached #10 on Billboard's Hot Dance Airplay chart. His 2007 single, "Carry Me Away" (featuring Emma Hewitt), topped the Billboard Hot Dance Airplay Chart. He scored his third consecutive top ten hit on the US dance chart with "Only One". "If You Knew" featuring Nastala, became his fourth consecutive top ten single on the US dance chart. A debut album is planned for release in 2009.

Lake has been a guest DJ on many radio shows such as Pete Tong's Radio 1. Tong hailed Lake as the "best thing to come out of Scotland since Mylo." However, Lake considers himself English and says that he is not technically Scottish.

Chris Lake runs two labels: Rising Music and Rising Trax. For in-studio mixing, Lake uses Ableton Live.

FUNKAGENDA

If you havent heard of Funkagenda by now then where have you been hiding?

Over the last 18 months, Groovedigitals in-house engineer has become a name synonymous with quality house music. Already having featured on labels as prominent as SUBLIMINAL, POSITIVA, BIG LOVE and TOOLROOM, his production and remix skills are highly sought after worldwide. In fact he is now fixed firmly in the 24 Management stable, home to NIC FANCIULLI, STEVE MAC, SEB FONTAINE and CHRIS LAKE amongst others

And production is not the only string in his bow. His DJ talents are also becoming a permanent fixture in clubs around the globe, with 2006 seeing him traveling to NEW YORK, RUSSIA, TUNISIA, ROMANIA, POLAND and many more

Starting his career at the age of just 13, helping to program backing tracks for his fathers club act, he quickly got a taste for music and life on the road. He formed his own bands at high school and became a multi instrumentalist, locking himself away in his home 4-Track studio for days at a time. Then as he hit his late teens, amidst fronting a soft rock band, he was lured into the charms of dance music by the legendary VOODOO RAY. From this point on it was a love affair, and whilst he continued to learn the more conventional side of music at college, with his A levels etc, he was burning the midnight oil in his home studio crafting Drum + Bass and Techno works

In the late 90s during the house explosion it was here that he found his home. The hypnotic rhythms of ROGER SANCHEZ, DAVID MORALES and MAW were a perfect fusion of musicality + dance floor sophistication, and institutions such as WOBBLE and the mighty GODSKITCHEN were a Mecca for clubbers across the UK. He began to learn the delicate art of DJing, although after years of manually timing beats on bargain basement samplers, this was not as difficult as he thought and soon he was picking up bar and small club residencies. But his true love was production and at this point, with the price of a Dub Plate being about 50 it was not cost efficient to play your own material

Enter the CDJ! Thanks to the wizards at PIONEER, many a bedroom producer now had the ability to play their own works out, and Funkagenda became a regular user. Always re-editing and remixing tracks into his own style, his sets had a unique sound, and began to catch the ears of many promoters around him. Soon gigs were a plenty, and his tracks were the flavour of the moment

And so this brings us to the present. Currently producing with the likes of MARK KNIGHT, ATFC, TROPHY TWINS and DJ EXACTA to name but a few, and with two very healthy record labels [GROOVEDIGITAL + POP POP] under his belt, Funkagendas name is a driving force in house music today…

KIM FAI

Over the last few years music producer Kim Fai has built himself a reputation of delivering solid productions and remixes for undoubtedly some of the world's hottest dance music label's. The 24 year old hails from the small town of Tipton in The Black Country, not the first place you would expect to find one of the industry's rising stars. But Kim's infusion of Techno & Minimalist House productions have gained support from some of today's most influential artists including Sander Kleinenberg, Mark Knight, Funkagenda, Dave Spoon, Steve Angello, Dirty South, Umek, Carl Kennedy, Tiger Stripes, Seamus Haji, ATFC, Fergie, Ricky Stone, Exacta, Trophy Twins, Noir and Paul Thomas to name a few.

Kim's latest instalment of material has been given the ultimate seal of approval. This is something never before done by the ever expanding Maidstone based label, home to some of dance music's biggest names and who have had countless dancefloor, underground and mainstream hits from some of the biggest and most exciting names in modern day dance.

This isn't the first time Kim has joined forces with Toolroom, he's previously remixed Funkagenda's “San Francisco” and “What The F*&k” the latter of which was supported by A – List DJ's world wide including Roger Sanchez and reached #16 on Beatport's Tech House chart. And more recently his remix of Ricky Stone's “Shanghai Taxi” hit #1 at Djmag.com and #5 on Djdownload's Techno chart, remaining firmly in the top 20 for 3 weeks.

Over the next few months Kim will be releasing remixes of Warren Clarke “Shake It” and Giorgia B & Planetta Borracho “Tequila” on Big Love Digital, and he'll also be doing some very special production collaberations with Funkagenda, Carl Kennedy, Exacta and Paul Thomas in the very near future.
